Blog Update – December 2010
The last couple of months had been slow at this Sulaimanian blog – both in terms of updates with new postings and hits/page views. Blame in work and other commitments. How I wish we can have a pool of contributors to help with articles for regular updates to this blog.
Well, once committed, I shall continue with or without assistance. Fortunately, during the last Aidil Fitri, after the SS Raya Reunion, I managed to meet up with Cikgu Mohamad Saberi Salleh, Penolong Kanan – Ko-Kurikulum. By coincidence he was also compiling the old school magazines to do some research. Thus, he promised to get me as many copy of the magazines he could search.
During the last Raya Haji break, I again visited him at the school. This time he gave me a box of the school magazines that he managed to compiled. And I came back prepared with my scanner. But then in total there were over 20,000 of pages that I need to scan from the 16 issues of the school magazine that were in the box which I do not have a copy yet – mostly the more recent years.
With such a short period to do the impossible job – no way I could finish scanning all those. But Cikgu Saberi was kind enough again – to allow me to take it back to KL to scan the rest. But work has caught up too (plus my other blogs need also to be maintained) and I could only scan during the weekends – but only after doing the weekends chores and the busy kenduri period of the school holidays – my progress was still slow. I promised to return the rest of the copies that I have with me by the end of the year – which is approaching fast.
This update is to share with all Sulaimanians of what is coming. There will soon be a lot of regular updates (insha Allah) with posting from pages of our school magazines. May Allah give me the health, strength and time to continue.
Another facts to share with all the Sulaimanians is that this blog hit a new highest views for the day a few days prior to our SS Reunion (Perjumpaan Hari Raya Aidil Fitri Alumni SS) in September. On the 9th September 2010, the statistics showed we had 595 views. We are also approaching 60,000 all time views (59,941 – to exact today).
Happy reading.
and Terima Kasih Cikgu Saberi.
