Sulaimanian Prof. Anuar Ahmad now Acting VC UNISEL

Prof Dr Anuar Appointed UNISEL Acting Vice-Chancellor

SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 (Bernama) – Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) Deputy President (Academic) Prof Dr Anuar Ahmad has been appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor after the post was vacated by Datuk Dr Rosti Saruwono on Aug 2.

The appointment of Prof Dr Anuar is effective today until a new Vice-Chancellor is elected, said a statement issued by Selangor Menteri Besar Press Secretariat Office Friday.

Decision to appoint Prof Dr Anuar as acting Vice-Chancellor was made at a meeting of Unisel Board of Directors at the Menteri Besar’s office here.

Prof Dr Anuar will perform duties as Vice-Chancellor with assistance of a special committee to smoothen the administration and strengthen Unisel’s finance.

The statement said the special committee will also assist the Board of Directors to find a suitable candidate for appointment as new Vice-Chancellor.

Rosti resigned on Tuesday saying he was unwilling to follow a directive to sack three Unisel officers without due process.

  1. That is one of the best decisions they made. Dr. Anuar is a good man, and I hope with the committee they can bring about some good changes. Unisel has been on a downward spiral for the past few years and it’s about time things improved.

My hats off to Datuk Dr. Rosti for resigning and my best wishes to Prof. Anuar Ahmad for his appointment. May he has better luck to improve the environment @ UNISEL.

    Proud to be a SULAIMANIAN.
